Agricultural, Management, and Green Industry Experience of Bill Sidwell:
Bill acquired a "green thumb" at an early age in rural Indiana. The Sidwell family acreage with it's sizable bluegrass lawn, it's wide variety of pines and hardwood trees, fruit trees, berry producing bushes & shrubs, multi-acre vegetable garden, ornamentals, and pasture provided Bill with "hands on" pruning experience, insect pest control experience, and disease prevention knowledge for a wide variety of plant materials, which Bill has continually expanded on and utilized his entire life.
Bill acquired a BA in Economics from Earlham College located in Richmond Indiana in 1981, graduating in the midst of a deep recession. Bill then accepted a position with PepsiCo in their restaurant division as an Assistant Manager in Indiana and was quickly promoted to a General Manager position in southern California. Bill concluded his career in Denver, CO as an Area Supervisor with PepsiCo in 1984 due to a growing dissatisfaction with being transferred across the US in order to advance within the company.
Bill then made Colorado home for himself and his young family and accepted a position with the Landscape Division of a Commercial Property Management Company where he acquired Colorado climate specific Green Industry knowledge & experience maintaining the landscapes of large Apartment communities and Commercial sites, as well as his Qualified Supervisor License with the Colorado Department of Agriculture. In order to provide for his growing family, Bill started doing business in 1985 (on a part time basis while working for Lincoln Properties) as Ponderosa Landscape Maintenance.
Ponderosa Landscape Maintenance is now Ponderosa Landscape Services, a Colorado family owned & operated company.
